The Ultimate Challenge? Bozeman To Host Spartan Trifecta
If you live in Bozeman and see a bunch of freakishly athletic people in town over the weekend, don't worry, they're here for a good reason. The 2024 Montana Spartan Trifecta is taking place this weekend and folks from all over the country are coming to Bozeman to participate.
Bozeman is no stranger to outdoor activity with many residents participating in different activities, but the Montana Spartan Trifecta takes it to a whole new level.
Athletes who will be a part of the weekend festivities will need to be on their A-game, as this could be considered the "ultimate challenge".
What is the Montana Spartan Trifecta?
According to the website, those who participate can expect the following:
Experience a rugged outdoor playground for adventures nestled in the Bridger Mountain Range about 20 minutes outside of Bozeman, Montana. A high-altitude course with challenging terrain, spectacular vistas, and wildlife waiting around every corner. Get ready to behold and conquer the wild beauty that is Montana.
The event takes place this Saturday and Sunday with multiple races happening over the weekend, including a kid's event. Events include the following:
- Sprint 5K (with 20 obstacles) on Saturday and Sunday
- Super 10K (with 25 obstacles) on Sunday
- Beast 21K (with 30 obstacles) on Saturday
- Ultra 50K (with 60 obstacles) on Saturday
- Kids Race 1-3K on Saturday and Sunday
What are the obstacles that the athletes will face during the event?
The obstacles include climbing over walls, jumping rope, monkey bars, climbing a rope, push-ups, and spear throw among many others. Needless to say, some of these activities are not for beginners and intense training is key.
The challenge is to complete 3 races in one year. When a participant completes a race, they receive a wedge that goes into their medal. Once you complete the 3 races in the allotted time, the wedges snap together forming a completed piece.
