It's certainly not a secret that Montana has some of the most amazing scenery in the nation. And it's not really debatable. Montana is one of the most beautiful states in the nation. Period.

Sure, one would automatically think that Yellowstone might make this list of the 10 most breathtaking day hikes in the U.S., but it's actually Glacier National Park at #3, right behind Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona (#2), and #1, Yosemite National Park in California. All spectacular destinations.

For Glacier National Park, the article from WiseBread.com mentions the 762 lakes (only 131 have been named), 175 mountains, 26 glaciers that helped form the area, and 700 miles of trails. Specifically they mention The Highline Loop, and Grinnell Glacier Trail as "the most breathtaking" day hikes in the park.
