Dolly Parton Sends Love To Montana During Imagination Library Celebration
I wouldn’t consider myself a super fan of anyone in particular… but I do have one person that I might just pass out if I ever got the chance to meet, and that’s America’s national treasure, Dolly Parton. Not only has this incredible woman created some of the best music ever known to grace our ears, but she has also dedicated much of her life to giving back. In her home state of Tennessee, and now far beyond, she’s best known for being an incredibly generous philanthropist. One of her greatest contributions? The Imagination Library.
This week, we were invited to attend a Montana Imagination Library event right here in Bozeman to celebrate the growth and success of the program in our state. Governor Greg Gianforte and First Lady Susan Gianforte marked the second anniversary of Montana’s statewide expansion of Dolly’s Imagination Library, which provides free, high-quality, age-appropriate books to children up to age five.
The event, hosted by the First Lady’s Treasure State Foundation, featured music from local students, a fireside chat, and a special performance by Nashville artist and Montana native Stephanie Quayle.
While Dolly couldn’t make the event in person due to an ear infection, she gave a heartfelt video presentation, thanking Montana families for embracing her program and sharing that she hopes to visit Big Sky Country soon.
Since expanding statewide, the program has grown to nearly 27,500 children with over 590,000 books mailed. Montana is now the sixteenth state to achieve this milestone.
