Excited about getting out there and hunting in Montana this year? Hunting licenses are now available for the state of Montana, but look for them to cost a bit more this year.

A Montana fishing license will be $3 more, and will now be $21. Also, anglers will not be able to combine the conservation license, so you will have to buy that separately for $8. Hunters will need to buy a $10 base hunting license as a prerequisite to buying any state hunting licenses. However, that includes the $2 hunting access enhancement fee that was charged separately last year.

Also, in the past, there were a number of free licenses or discounted licenses that were offered to youth, seniors and disabled hunters. This year only military recognition and block management cooperator combination licenses will remain free.
