A student at Belgrade High School was reported missing Monday, October 25 at approximately 12:30 p.m.

Local law enforcement agencies and members of the Belgrade community joined forces to search for 15-year-old Alyvea Hookano who was last seen leaving Belgrade High School in a pickup on Monday around 12:15 p.m.

According to an update from Hookano's mother, Alyvea has been found safe, but the incident is still under investigation.

Pictures of Alyvea Hookano were shared on social media Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning and helped law enforcement locate her.

Thankfully, Hookano was located Tuesday afternoon in slightly over 24 hours due in part to tips from fellow Belgrade High School students, members of the Belgrade community, and diligent work by local law enforcement agencies. Initial reports indicated that Hookano was kidnapped, but the Belgrade Police Department confirmed that the incident was a runaway investigation.

Hookani was believed to be in Manhattan or Three Forks but was found safe and unharmed in Belgrade on Tuesday afternoon, according to Sergeant Justin Sharp at the Belgrade Police Department. The incident is still under investigation and more information will be provided when it becomes available.

If you have any information that could be beneficial to the investigation, please contact the Belgrade Police Department at 406-388-4262.
