Beloved Montana Event Celebrates 100 Years
Summer in Montana means a lot of things, but one of the biggest events of the summer is turning 100 years old this year.
The Livingston Roundup Rodeo is celebrating its 100th year, which means an already big event just got bigger. The Rodeo, which is Montana's oldest, was established in 1924 and is not only a big deal for the town of Livingston but also a big deal for the state of Montana.
Each year tons of folks come back for the Livingston Roundup and it's not hard to find generations of Montanans gathering together to participate in the fun.
This year's Livingston Roundup starts today with the 100th Anniversary Concert with headliner John Michael Montgomery. The music starts at 1 pm and will go on until 11 pm at the Park County Fairgrounds.
Montgomery will take the stage at 8 pm, however, McBride and the Ride will take the stage at 6:30 pm.
Monday the rodeo action kicks off and will take place through the 4th. The big parade happens on Tuesday and the kiddie rodeo and Real Men Wear Pink auction take place on Wednesday.
Of course, fireworks will also be a big part of the celebration with a fireworks show each night from Monday through Thursday.
If you haven't already got your rodeo tickets, you might be out of luck as the rodeo portion of the Roundup is sold out, however, there is still a lot to do and see during the event. If you want more information, check out the Livingston Roundup website.
