Add another one of our favorite events to the cancellation list for 2020. Monday the Livingston Classic PBR announced on XL Country that regrettably they are cancelling this year's event scheduled for August 1, 2020.

In a released statement, the LCPBR said that they were "hopeful that this event could happen," and that they had looked at all angles of possibilities before making their decision, including "talking extensively with State and Local governing officials." They went on to say,

At the heart of it all, we want to keep the Livingston community and surrounding area, our staff, our volunteers, and our contestants safe in this time of COVID-19. Even though at this time, Montana is looking positive in its path forward, we do not lose sight that this global pandemic is still ongoing and doesn’t discriminate on where it decides to take hold next.

The good news is that the Livingston Classic PBR has every intention of being back next year in 2021!

Here is the complete statement release by the Livingston Classic PBR:

Please know that this decision was not taken lightly as we know how very important events of this caliber are to providing large economic impacts to the Livingston community and the surrounding area. As the date of the event continued to draw near, it became increasingly clear it is impossible to plan an event of this scale in such an unpredictable environment and found it most responsible to hit the pause button for 2020.

To the Livingston Community and its businesses, we cannot thank you enough for the support you have shown this year and the past. Please know we will be back and ready to help and support you in 2021.

To our Sponsors and Partners, thank you again for stepping up to support us for 2020. You know we produce nothing but a top-notch show that showcases your business and branding, and we promise to do so again next year.

To our PBR Bull Riders and Staff, we are saddened we aren’t able to host you in Montana’s beautiful and welcoming Livingston community this year. We know this is one of your favorite stops on the summer PBR Tour, but we know Montana will wait for you and will be better than ever when you come back again in 2021.

And lastly, to our Fans, while you won’t see the chutes open this year for 2020, rest assured we plan to be back bigger and better in 2021. Plans are already being carved out and we can’t wait to again sit safely together with you in that big, beautiful arena as the sun sets on the amazing, towering mountain peaks that serve as our backdrop to one of the best PBR Bull Ridings Montana has to offer. Until then, stay safe, stay strong, and stay patient.

We will see you in 2021.
