Latest Telephone Scam Involves Local Bozeman Newspaper

The Bozeman Police Department is warning Gallatin Valley residents to avoid a telephone scam currently making the rounds in the area.

According to the Bozeman Police Department Facebook page:

Someone calls and states that they work for the Bozeman Daily Chronicle. They tell you they are aware you were a prior subscriber and ask if you wish to re-subscribe.

If you say yes, they ask for your credit card information. DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM. The same holds true for any business that cold calls you asking for credit card information.

When in doubt, call the business yourself to verify it was indeed them calling you.

The most recent scam is one of many that have recently been reported in the Gallatin Valley.
