Is Bozeman Ready For This New Facility? Residents Say YES!
All you have to do is look around and you can clearly see the growth of our once quiet little town. From million-dollar homes and apartments, Bozeman has become a hot spot for 2nd homes and tourists.
When it comes to having new businesses and buildings pop up, some residents voice their annoyance about how they don't want any more growth...unless it's their idea.
Last year, Bozeman's very popular Swim Center closed temporarily for much-needed repairs. This left many locals looking for a new facility to use, which also gave them the idea to add another similar facility to the west side of town.
After voicing their wants and desires, and also hoping to serve more members of the community, it seems as though they may just have their wants met.
The concept of the new facility would be a bit different, this facility would host a library, a rec center, AND an aquatic center, all of this in one building. The Bozeman Public Library is currently working on securing a building that would hopefully be able to house not just the library but also the rec and aquatic center as well.
You, as community members, will be able to voice your opinions and get in on all the details by attending any open discussions that are held. The first meeting is just around the corner and the city is excited to hear your comments.
The first of several public comment periods is next Thursday, January 19 at the Public Safety Center.
Now cost and size of the building are still up in the air, but that is where public opinion is very important, as most of us are taxpayers. The hope for the city is to have this new facility up for bond questions on the November 2023 ballot.
