Three of our neighbors land in the Top 5 for Best States To Live For DINK Couples. (By the way, DINK stands for dual income, no kids.)

According to Underwood Law Firm, the number one state for DINK couples is Wyoming. What's so great about Wyoming? Well, according to the research, it has a low cost of living, a low crime rate, lots of cultural events, and the commute to and from is relatively short.

Also making the Top 5 are both Dakotas. North Dakota came in 3rd place while South Dakota came in 5th.

Full disclosure, I lived in North Dakota for 4 years and if you think Montana winters are bad, they got nothing on our friends to the east. Sure, the housing costs are lower and your dollar goes further, but remember winter is often from September to May.

Where does Montana rank on the list?

Montana comes in 15th, which isn't bad when you consider there are 50 states. However, Washington, Colorado, and Utah are ranked higher and considered more affordable.

It should be noted that parts of Montana are much more affordable than other parts. Cities like Billings, Butte, Helena, and others are reasonable compared to places like Bozeman and Missoula. Still, it's a little shocking to see that our neighbors have it much better than we do for some of these things.
