Wednesday morning, the Board of Health voted to allow local gyms, museums, and movie theaters to re-open in Gallatin County starting this Friday, May 15th. Governor Steve Bullock gave his ok last week, saying:

“In consultation with public health experts, we have determined that these businesses can carefully reopen under strict capacity, social distancing, and sanitation guidelines. As Montana continues to aggressively manage the virus and we move forward with the plan to reopen, I am again reminding Montanans that social distancing is vital to continue curbing the virus. All of us must do our part to stay open and stay on a path of decline in positive cases.”

The Gallatin City-County Health Department will host a webinar on Thursday to provide a brief overview of the Governor’s Directive and how it applies to gyms and fitness studios.

Under the governor's guidelines, movie theaters and museums will be required to:

  • Limit capacity to 50%
  • Maintain social distancing between non-family members or the immediate party.
  • Clean & sanitize every two-hours

Gyms and fitness studios will be required to:

  • Limit capacity to 50%
  • Sanitize often frequently used areas & equipment
  • Make sure members are adhering to safe social distancing
