Health Board Announces Date for Re-Scheduled Meeting About Masks

The Gallatin City-County Board of Health has set a date for the re-scheduled emergency meeting to discuss masks and quarantining. The meeting is now set for this Friday, July 24th, at 7 a.m. and will be held virtually.

The Health Board will consider a new emergency health rule that would require use of face coverings by most people within most indoor public settings, including retail businesses, bars and restaurants, government buildings and schools, and most other public indoor settings.

Governor Bullock announced his own state-wide mask/face covering directive last week. By virtue of still keeping masks on the agenda, it would seem to indicate that the Health Board will have some additional guidelines of their own on top of the governor's directive. We'll find out on Friday.

The second measure on the Board’s agenda is an extension of the Board’s emergency rule requiring people who have tested positive for COVID-19 to remain in isolation until they are no longer contagious. The rule also requires quarantine of close contacts of known cases and those who are symptomatic and awaiting test results.
