When Hank Williams Jr. tours, he never seems to have trouble finding fellow country artists — or artists of any genre for that matter — to help him out in the opening act slots. It was no different when it came time to look for his musical pals to lend their time to his forthcoming Taking Back the Country tour, set to kick off next month.

The 16-cities confirmed thus far for the trek will feature Josh Thompson, Jamey Johnson, Chris Young, George Thorogood and .38 Special as the rotating opening acts. For Thompson and Johnson, this will be the second time being on a tour with Bocephus. The two were also Hank’s openers on his 2010 Rowdy Friends tour.

The announcement of the new tour comes just days after revealing details on the singer’s ‘Best Of’ album, which will hit stores on March 27.

Additional dates to the tour will be announced over the next few weeks. For ticket information, on-sale dates, and details about fan club promotions, visit Hank’s official website by clicking here.
