Martel Johnson played for the MSU Bobcat basketball team from 2003-05. His Bobcat career was cut short, though, by kidney failure. Almost 15 years later, Martel is still battling his medical issues and fighting for his life. He's trying to raise $50,000 to pay for tests at the Mayo Clinic & Cedar Sinai, which will get him on a transplant list.

He did receive a kidney transplant back in 2002 but his body rejected it. At this point, he has no kidneys, and his body is creating antibodies (due to the previous rejection) that cause it to be harder to find a match.

Here's Where You Come In: Martel will clear your driveway & sidewalks of snow this winter for a $30 minimum charge. The money will go towards his medical expenses. Contact Martel and he will give you an estimate on what it will cost based on how large of an area you have.

If you would like to help out Martel, please email him at m_johnson50@hotmail.com or call 702.372.0906.
