In March, Meridian Restaurants Unlimited filed for bankruptcy. According to Restaurant Business, the company owns 116 Burger King franchises. The locations are in Minnesota, Utah, Montana, Kansas, Nebraska, and North Dakota. Due to the bankruptcy filing, the company announced plans to close 26 restaurants, three of which are in Montana.

The news came shortly after a Burger King franchisee, EYM Group, announced the closure of 26 restaurants in Michigan.

What Burger King Locations Are Closing in Montana?

In total, three locations will close by April 15 in Montana. Find a list of the closures below.

  • Lewistown, Montana (1422 W Main St.)
  • Billings, Montana (520 N. 27th St.)

According to an article published in the Billings Gazette, the Burger King location in downtown Billings has already closed for good. The other locations are already listed as "temporarily closed" when I searched for them on Google.

The news is especially heartbreaking for small towns such as Columbia Falls and Lewistown because food options are already limited as it is. The three restaurants closing in Montana are owned by Meridian Restaurants Unlimited.

If you're craving Burger King, there are still quite a few locations that will remain open in Montana. Locations in Butte, Bozeman, Belgrade, Missoula, Helena, and Great Falls are expected to stay open for now, but don't be surprised if more closures are announced in the future.
