A banana car?

Yes, you read that right. According to the Montanan Highway Patrol there was a banana car in Montana around the Billings area and it was actually pulled over. And yes, the car actually looks like a banana.

Why was the banana car pulled over?

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, it seemed that the car's license plate appeared to be blocked, so the Trooper decided to get to the bottom of it. Upon pulling the vehicle over, everything checked out and it turned out that the plate was legit. So, after a quick photo, the banana car was back on the road.

According to The Drive, the banana car is owned by Steve Braithwaite. Braithwaite built the vehicle from 2008 until 2011 and the fiberglass banana is placed on top of a Ford F-150 chassis. Braithwaite says that he gets all kinds of looks wherever he goes and this isn't the first time he has been pulled over and he says he's been pulled over "hundreds of times".

What's the purpose of the banana car?

While there was never a purpose stated, Steve Braithwaite says that he loves all of the attention, smiles, and waves that he receives while he drives the car across the country.
