Caught! Criminals On The Run. Watch For Them In MT
UPDATE: March 21, 2024 at 4:56pm IDAHO STATE POLICE NEWS RELEASE: Law enforcement arrest two after inmate escape.
Two dangerous escaped felons are on the loose out of Boise, Idaho with unknown direction of travel.
With Montana being incredibly remote and also home to I-90 which is an east–west transcontinental freeway and the longest Interstate Highway in the United States at 3,021 miles. It begins in Seattle, Washington, and travels through the Pacific Northwest, Mountain West, Great Plains, Midwest, and the Northeast, ending in Boston, Massachusetts.
Two Boise inmates are at large with direction of travel unknown.
Nicholas Umphenour. He is described as 5'11", around 160 lbs. and hazel eyes.
Officers have a $2 million dollar bond with the warrant for Umphenour for two counts of aggravated battery against law enforcement and one count of aiding and abetting.

At this time, it is unknown exactly where they are or where they are headed. Officers have also identified the license plate and vehicle they fled in and are continuing to look for the vehicle. Vehicle description: The vehicle is a Grey 2020 Honda Civic with license plate 2TDF43U.
Three IDOC officers were injured. One officer shot by the suspect is in critical but considered to be in stable condition. The second officer shot by the suspect has serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and the third IDOC officer was injured during gunfire from a responding BPD officer and received non-life-threatening injuries.
Both suspects are known to be armed and dangerous. Idaho State Police issued a blue alert on behalf of the Boise Police Department. Anyone with information is asked to call Ada County Dispatch at 208-377-6790 or your local law enforcement. DO NOT APPROACH EITHER OF THE SUSPECTS.
