The town of Ennis was trying to hold strong and were planning on hosting their Annual 4th of July Parade, but Friday morning the Ennis Chamber of Commerce announced the event has been canceled.

Originally, a decision was going to be addressed by the Madison County Public Health Board, however, the Ennis Mayor, Blake Leavitt, has not signed the permit for the Fourth of July Parade, according to The Madisonian.

The Ennis Chamber of Commerce stated:
With the best interest of the entire Town of Ennis and surrounding communities in mind; The Annual 4th of July Parade has been Canceled for this Year. We look forward to having a grand event next year.
The Madison County Public Health Board plans to meet June 16th and review Virginia City 4th of July events, Madison County Fair, and other local events.
