Two Montana Cities Make List Of Best Places To Raise A Family
When it comes to choosing a place to settle down and call home, there are several different factors to consider.
For me, I love the mountains, plus, I'm not a huge fan of crowds or big cities. I love beautiful things, and I enjoy a little adventure from time to time. So, Montana is my ideal spot. For others, things like healthcare, education, and economy are all big factors when it comes to deciding where to lay their head.
Montana has grown quite a bit in the last few years. To say the secret is out would be a bit of an understatement. Oh sure, there are still lots of small towns that have that old school charm that makes Montana so appealing to certain folks, but our bigger cities continue to grow at a pretty quick pace.

So much so that two Montana cities recently made the list of the Best Places To Raise A Family in the United States. Our friends over at WalletHub spent time going over the data and used key factors to determine which cities would make the list.
Here are some of the factors that helped determine the list:
- Family Fun
- Health and Safety
- Education and Child Care
- Affordabiltiy
- Socio-Ecomonics
It should be noted that population also played a factor in determining which cities made the list. WalletHub took a look at almost 200 cities, including the 150 most populated to help determine the rankings.
Which Montana cities are the best to raise a family?
Now that we know the factors that were used to determine the list, it won't be a big surprise to learn that the two Montana cities that made the list just so happen to be the two Montana cities with the most people.
Ranked 51st on the list is the city of Billings. Billings ranked higher than popular places like Salt Lake City, Tampa, and Colorado Springs. While Billings is ranked 51st, you don't have to go down the list too far to find Missoula ranked at 63rd.
Billings is bigger and has more crime than Missoula, but the housing is cheaper and there is more opportunity. Missoula is more expensive, but it is home to the University of Montana and has amazing outdoor activities around the city.

As mentioned, part of this is based on population, so towns like Bozeman, Kalispell, Helena, and others didn't have the chance to show up on the list.
