With the exception of a few, the majority of us are addicted to our phones.

They are the first thing we look at in the morning and the last thing we look at in the evening. Oh, and then there are all the times during the day that we either take a long long look, or maybe just a peak. Either way, we spend a significant amount of screen time each day with our phones.

So, what if we actually downloaded apps that would benefit our lives, instead of hinder them?

We decided to take a look at Montana based apps that every Montanan needs on their phone. These specific apps were designed to be used by Montanans with the hope of bringing a little ease to your daily routine.

Montana based Apps

First up, is MDT 511. This app takes a look at the roads throughout Montana and is especially useful during the winter. However, the app can be used throughout the year to check construction, accidents, etc..

Montana is a popular place to explore the outdoors, so lets take a look at a couple of apps that will help you do just that.

MYFWP is a great app to download to your phone as it lets you have digital access to your hunting and fishing licenses. The app also has access to E-Tags which you can use when out in the field, even without cellular service.

Recreation.gov is another app that you can download to your phone and use to book campsites on BLM land, US Forest Service land, as well as other lands. Oh, and it should be mentioned that the app does come with interactive maps of public lands.

Finally, wildfires can be a real threat to those who call Big Sky Country home, so check out this app.

Watch Duty is an app that lets you know about the different wildfires happening around the state.  The app will also send alerts regarding fires that are taking place around the state.

Of course there are several other apps dealing with culture, activities, and historic sites, but if you're planning on spending time in the outdoors, these apps are must-have. What is a Montana app that you use on a regular basis?
