Every time I write something positive about Montana, I get hate mail from the "anti-transplant/anti-tourist crowd" so, I figure I should prepare myself because here comes another positive Montana story about a place that you can enjoy right here in Big Sky Country.

Montana has a ton going for it. I mean, there is world-class fishing, world-class skiing, plus all of the hiking, biking, camping, hunting, rafting, and all the other stuff.

However, according to one source, one way to beat the summer heat is by checking out one of the best swimming spots in America, and, you guessed it, it's right here in Montana.

Travel Bucket List is a social media site that lists different spots to check out when you are, well, traveling. It so happens that the decided to take a look at Top 15 Swim Spots in America and Montana's best spot landed at number 7 on the list.

Where is the best swimming spot in Montana?

So, which Montana swim spot is one of the best in the country?

According to the site, that would be Blodgett Canyon. Just west of Hamilton, it seems there's a little something for everyone. There is the creek with both shallow and deep pools, there is the trail, and there is the lake that the trail takes you too.

I will admit, I've never been there and when I looked into it, it seems that the area is more known for hiking and rock climbing than swimming, but maybe I'm missing something.
