On this date (March 5, 2009) nine years ago, downtown Bozeman was rocked by an explosion that wiped out practically a city block. The event made national news and nearly a decade later a few of the buildings have still not been replaced.

A natural gas line that broke was the cause. Amazingly, only one person died, Tara Reistad. Tara was working a nearby gallery when the explosion happened just after 8 a.m on a cloudy, Thursday morning.
