A second Gallatin County person has been identified with the coronavirus. The Montana Department of Health & Human Services and the Gallatin City-County Health Department confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that another person has tested positive.

Matt Kelley, Health Officer with GCCHD, said the person is a male in his 20s, who returned to Montana from Europe on March 12 with symptoms. He was tested the next day and the results came back today (March 17th).

The person is reportedly in good condition in his home. Kelley stresses that the male was diligent in self-isolating and that saved many potential contacts and exposures. “It drives home why it's so important that when people are sick they hunker down in their homes and seek medical care,” Kelley said.

Health Officer Kelly will hold a press conference on Wednesday, March 18, at 12 p.m. at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds. The conference will also be streamed live on the GCCHD Facebook page (link) and recorded.
