YNP Gives SW Montana Economy Huge Boost in 2018
With the weather warming up it's also time for tourists to start making their way to Yellowstone National Park. A 2018 report from the National Parks Service stated that 4.1 million people visited Yellowstone last year.
These 4.1 million people stimulated the economy and spent $512.6 million in local communities around the park supporting over 7,000 jobs locally. Tourism to Yellowstone had a cumulative benefit to the local economy of $647.1 million.
Cam Sholly, Yellowstone National Park superintendent, stated that “our national parks are one of the very best tax payer investments in this country. For many reasons, well beyond economics, it’s essential that we invest aggressively to protect these incredible places in the future."
