BREAKING: A Montana Mayor Resigns Over Trump Comments
What does Freedom of Speech really mean?
We hear a lot about Freedom of Speech, especially in today's political climate. Folks feel like they have the right to say whatever they want (and they do, to an extent), but it is also important to remember that folks have the right to tune you out, terminate you, or boycott whatever movement you're a part of.

I bring this up because down in West Yellowstone, the former Mayor of the city has found himself in a bit of hot water after he took to Social Media and posted the following:
I'm ANTIFA. F Trump and his Nazi followers.
Well, as you can guess, this has caused quite the controversy in the Montana tourist town. So, the question is, does the former Mayor have the right to say what he said? He does. However, the people of the community also have the right to vote him out. As mentioned, he is now the former mayor after resigning due to the uproar. He did release a statement in which he admitted he had crossed the line.
What I posted was mean and divisive. I have clearly fallen off the tracks. I have resigned from the council. Thank you, and sorry to have caused such a drama
Also, it should be noted that the Nazi's weren't real big fans of the Jews, and Trump just brokered a deal that freed several Israeli hostages, so the Nazi argument doesn't hold a whole lot of merit.
Freedom of Speech has consequences, no matter whose side you're on.
We as people only get upset when our side faces those consequences. It's happened time and time again. Someone says something, and those who agree talk about Freedom of Speech. Those who disagree take to the streets, boycott, and ban companies and products. Of course, this outrages those who "support" Freedom of Speech, and they throw a big fit.
Remember when a certain adult beverage giant decided to make a can for a certain social influencer that didn't represent the traditional American way of life?
People lost their minds, made vows to never drink the product again, bars banned it from their premises, and the company saw a pretty big short-term hit to its profits. The situation has since cooled off, and things are back to normal, but for a bit, social and mainstream media couldn't get enough.
What does that future hold for the current Mayor of West Yellowstone?

I'm not sure, but I'm guessing someone in the area is making protest signs as we speak while working on a list of things to boycott. I mean, after all, they have the right to Freedom of Speech as well.
