
Weekend Box Office — ‘Act of Valor’ Captivates Audiences for a First Place Finish
Americans’ fascination with the Navy SEALs translated to a big opening for ‘Act of Valor,’ which earned $24.7 million and first place at the box office this weekend.
‘Tyler Perry’s Good Deeds’ bowed in second with $16 million, followed by the $13.4 million brought in by ‘Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.’
Former box office champs ‘Safe House’ and ‘The Vow’ rounded out the top five, selling $11.3 million and $10 million in tickets, respectively.
