Jason Alvine, play-by-play announcer for Montana State Football and Women's Basketball, has announced his departure.

Alvine not only handled play-by-play duties at MSU, he was also the Director of Basketball Operations. Before being promoted to the voice of the Bobcats football team, Alvine served as color commentator under former announcer, Jay Sanderson. When Sanderson left the program, Alvine was promoted to the lead roll.

In Alvine's four years at MSU, he has been a part of two women's basketball championship seasons, and he was the voice of Bobcat football during the programs most successful season in 35 years.

We reached out to Alvine for comment. He told us that he is taking time to focus on family, and that he wants to be able to focus on being a good husband and father.

Alvine posted the following on his Facebook page.
