Social Distancing: How Montana Ranks Against Other States
The CDC and the World Health Organization have advised that social distancing is one of the most effective ways to slow the spread of COVID-19.
According to the Social Distancing Scoreboard created by unacast, Montana ranks in the bottom five states when it comes to social distancing. Overall the state of Montana ranked a D, with Gallatin Country earning a C grade.
The low grade could be because of visitors to Yellowstone National Park (which has since closed until further notice) and Headwaters State Park this past weekend.
States are ranked based on a change in traveling habits by analyzing smartphone location data, with an A ranking state or country decreasing travel by over 50%, B ranking decreasing travel by 30-40%, C ranking decreasing travel by 20-30%, D ranking decreasing travel by 10-20%, and F ranking decreasing travel by less than 10%.
