Montana’s Food Scene: Where Do We Rank Compared To Other States?
Montana is known for a few things, and one of them is a hearty appetite.
It shouldn't come as a big surprise when you consider that there are more cattle in the state than actual people, we Montanans love our red meat. Whether it's a delicious burger, or a thick, cooked-to-perfection steak, beef is definitely what's for dinner here in Big Sky Country.
Of course, beef isn't the only Montana specialty. We have the Porkchop Sandwich, Pasties, Elk, Bison, and everything Huckleberry.
The truth is, for such a sparsely populated state, you won't have to look very far to find top-notch grub which is why I was a little surprised by some recent data that decided to rank all 50 states according to their state's cuisine. The website FunCatz put out their rankings and what may come as a surprise to many, Montana didn't even make the middle of the pack.
So just exactly where do we fall out of the 50 states? Before we reveal our place on the list, let's take a look at 10 Montana restaurants that you definitely will want to check out.

According to FunCatz, Montana comes in 38th place out of 50 States with the best food. In case you're wondering, the website had the following to say about the Montana culinary scene:
"While we can’t say anything bad about Montana’s food scene, there isn’t anything outstanding about it either. It’s pretty boring if you ask us. It isn’t the worst place to go for food, but it isn’t the best, so it’s in the middle."
Well, that kinda seems a little rude, doesn't it? Oh, and in case you were wondering which state came in 1st place, that would be California which is odd since so many of those folks continue to move here. You would think such sophisticated palates wouldn't enjoy our middle-of-the-road, "boring" food.
