Montanans Check Your Coolers: Serious Recall For Popular Brand
Montanans, Check Your Coolers—This Recall Is No Joke!
Spring and summer are just around the corner, which means it won’t be long before we’re dusting off our coolers for camping trips, fishing weekends, and backyard BBQs. But before you drag yours out of winter storage, you definitely want to check the brand—because one popular cooler has a serious safety issue.

Igloo, one of the biggest names in coolers, just announced a massive recall of over one million coolers on February 13. And trust us, this isn’t just about a faulty latch or bad insulation—this recall is for something way worse.
Why Are Igloo Coolers Being Recalled?
If you own an Igloo 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Cooler, you need to pay attention. Turns out, the tow handle design can crush or even amputate fingers when it folds down. Yep, you read that right—your cooler could take a finger off.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, there have already been 12 reports of serious injuries, including amputations, deep cuts, and even bone fractures.
Which Igloo Coolers Are Affected?
With over 1,060,000 of these coolers sold in the U.S. alone, odds are pretty good some are hanging around Montana. If you’ve got an Igloo 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Cooler made between January 2019 and January 2025, check the bottom for the manufacturing date.
Montanans are tough, but let’s be real—we’d rather keep all our fingers. If your cooler is on the list, stop using the handle and check the recall info for next steps HERE.
Stay safe out there, and may your beverages stay ice cold, and you keep your phalanges.
