Growing up as a kid in the South, we dreamed of snow days, and it didn't take much snow to make those dreams come true.

The South is a different animal when it comes to snow. If there is even a hint of devil's dandruff coming our way, oh Lordy.... Milk flies off the shelves, people fill their cars with gas, and parents are put on high alert for school closures. In essence, the word "snow" is like hearing a grenade pin hit the floor in every state below the Mason Dixion Line.

Since I've lived in the West for a couple of years now, I have been wondering... Do kids even have snow days in Montana? The battle-hardened little winter warriors of Montana probably don't even know that it exists!

In my research, I found out, I was mistaken; however, the kids that grow up here certainly don't have the luxury of many. They are more likely to experience a delay if they're fortunate enough.

The thought every kid has... "Come on! What's it take to get a snow day around here!?"

If you want to calculate the likelihood of school closures in your area, here is a fun website to view the projections. SNOW DAY CALCULATOR

In summary, it takes a 'snowpocalypse' in Montana to get a day off. With its top-notch winter road services, it's unlikely your kids will see too many 'snow days' in their lifetime. However, for their sake, I hope they get to enjoy a few.
