Montana’s Favorite Ho-Ho-Holiday Cookie Is A Classic
'Tis the season for holiday treats here in Montana.
For many, it's a tradition to get together and bake and then decorate delicious goodies that will not only be given out as gifts, but enjoyed by those who made them as well. While not everyone is a great baker, it's still fun to get together, play some Christmas music, have a little hot chocolate, and design your edible masterpieces.
While some desserts take a little more effort and skill, there are others that almost anyone can make. Of course, we are talking about the classic Christmas cookie.

Even if you don't have a recipe, you can always buy those holiday cookies that come in a can and are pre-cut. So, if you're someone who doesn't know your way around measuring spoons, or you just don't have the time, nor the patience to make cookies from scratch, these will do the trick.
While sugar cookies might be the most popular Christmas cookie out there, that's not the case here in Montana.
According to Google, when it comes to the most popular Montana Christmas cookies, peppermint, shortbread, and Russian tea cakes are a bit hit. However, none of them takes the top spot for favorite Christmas cookie.
What is Montana's favorite Christmas cookie?
The internet says that the most popular Christmas cookie in Big Sky Country is none other than the peanut butter cookie, and I'm not going to disagree. Not only is the peanut butter cookie my all-time favorite, but it also makes excellent Christmas cookies.
Growing up, my Mom would make them each year. Tiny little peanut butter cookies, then she would stick a Hershey Kiss right in the middle of them. My wife and I used to make them each year to give out as gifts, but we would end up eating most of them ourselves.
