Little Big Town took home the honors for Best Country Duo/Group Performance at the 2016 Grammy Awards on Monday afternoon (Feb. 15), capping off the best year of their career.

The celebrated vocal group beat out Brothers Osborne's “Stay a Little Longer,” Joey + Rory's “If I Needed You,” Charles Kelley, Dierks Bentley and Eric Paslay for “The Driver” and Blake Shelton and Ashley Monroe's No. 1 hit duet, “Lonely Tonight."

The group were all smiles as they took the stage during the pre-televised portion of the ceremony, with singer Kimberly Schlapman exclaiming, "Oh my stars! Oh my goodness!" as she approached the microphone.

"I'm shaking," she added.

"What a journey," Phillip Sweet said before Karen Fairchild thanked "the beautiful writers of this song, Liz Rose, Hillary Lindsey, Lori McKenna ... thank you for bringing us to this big old party, [producer] Jay Joyce for killing this record in the studio ... just made the most beautiful, beautiful music."

The group also thanked their label, their radio team, country radio and their fans, "for sticking with this song," which faced some initial reluctance when it was released, only to go on to become the biggest hit of LBT's career, shattering decades-old records for spending the most weeks at No. 1.

"This is just incredible," Sweet said with a laugh. "We're so thrilled. This is the best thing ever!"
