Kathy Bates to Play Charlie Sheen’s Old Character on ‘Two and a Half Men’
After Charlie Sheen left ‘Two and a Half Men’ with a giant media splash last year, his character was killed off and no one thought he’d ever be on the show again. Seems they were wrong — sort of.
Charlie Harper, Sheen’s on-screen alter-ego, will make a reappearance while his brother Alan is in the hospital. Only it won’t be Sheen himself — it’ll be Oscar-winning actress Kathy Bates embodying Charlie’s ghost.
Bates, who currently stars on the NBC series ‘Harry’s Law,’ will play the apparition on the April 30 episode of ‘Two and a Half Men’ and visit Alan after he has a heart attack. (And if she’s anything like her character in the movie ‘Misery,’ we’d advise Alan not to let her anywhere near the foot of his bed, especially if there’s a sledgehammer within reach.)
As for Sheen, he hasn’t yet commented on the creative casting choice, but it won’t be long before you’ll see him — the actual him — on TV again. His next project is a sitcom for FX based on the comedy film ‘Anger Management.’
