Is a Little Big Town and Justin Timberlake collaboration on the horizon? It seems likely. Timberlake took a selfie with Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman and Karen Fairchild posing in the background, noting that they were writing together, and his enthusiasm not only showed on his face, but in his caption.

"NBD... Just writing with @littlebigtown. This band is the truth!! So good!!!!" the former 'N Sync star writes.

Timberlake has been a friend to the country music scene for a while now, especially after his epic performance with Chris Stapleton at the CMA Awards last year. Since then the Memphis native released his country-tinged single “Drink You Away” to country radio and earned his first hit on the country charts with it. Timberlake dipping his toes in the country waters isn’t a total surprise, as he has said in the past he’d love to be involved in the scene. In an interview on XM radio in 2013, he noted his country roots showing in “Drink You Away” and his love for Music City.

"[I] listened to country music, R&B music, classic rock, you know, everything," Timberlake said about his diverse musical upbringing. "You know what I love about Nashville too, you don’t have to have an official single to have a single. That’s my favorite part about the scene in Nashville."

"I still got my eyes set on a Best Country Album, there is time for that,” he added, only slightly joking.

With his new writing buddies and friendships with Stapleton and Garth Brooks, who recently wished him happy birthday on stage, he may be on his way to pursuing that goal. Even his producer and friend Timbaland has talked about his and Timberlake’s Southern-bred background.

“We are country. He’s from Tennessee, I’m from Virginia. It’s only right that we try to tap into what we was raised in. We was raised in the country,” Timbaland told TMZ. “That’s who we are.”

Here’s hoping for a Timberlake country record in the coming years — or at least a featured vocal on the the next Little Big Town album!
