Jerrod Niemann Hand-Delivers Private Concert to Lucky College Student
Last September, Jerrod Niemann urged fans to submit their information for his 'Rock Your Room' sweepstakes, which promised one lucky winner a bundle of the latest Sony electronics to help furnish a college dorm room or home bedroom in need of a hi-tech makeover. Chosen at random, Catherine WIllis of Arizona State University was awarded the top prize, which also included a private, intimate performance from the 'Lover, Lover' singer.
The lucky college coed received her once-in-a-lifetime prize package from Niemann on Dec. 10, beating out 4,000 other hopefuls for the ultimate concert experience. Willis' electronic swag included a Sony Bravia 31.5” LCD BX330 HDTV, PlayStation Vita (Wi-Fi) Madden NFL 13 Bundle, Portable Speaker for iPod and iPhone and a 2GB W Series Walkman Meb Keflezighi.
Niemann is no stranger to goodwill efforts, especially when it benefits the youth of America. The singer stopped by to visit the famous PS22 children's choir in Staten Island, N.Y. last October to offer the talented youngsters a new drumset and digital piano — a much-needed upgrade from the obsolete model they were using for practice.
“Having a chance to meet and perform with PS22 was like no other experience,” Niemann said in a statement following his visit. “Those children have so much talent and passion for music that I am so inspired and proud to be their biggest fan.”
Fans hoping for their own concert experience with the country superstar can catch Niemann during one of his handful of tour dates scheduled through February. The singer is on the road promoting his latest studio album 'Free the Music,' which features his current Top 40 single, 'Only God Could Love You More.'
