Boarding a plane can be an absolute nightmare, depending on the airline, but this new policy could be a hit with customers.

Flying during the holidays can be the worst. The airports are jam-packed with agitated people trying to reach their destinations, there are overworked employees, and the weather can delay your flights at a whim.

The only thing that people hate more is when boarding the flight and trying to find space for their carry-on luggage. Most airlines out of the Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport have standard boarding.

Customers are separated into groups, and the people who pay more for their tickets usually get on the plane first and get first dibs on the overhead bins. Well, for one airline, that is about to change.

United Airlines will be boarding their passengers in a new way that seems logical but could upset quite a few customers. United Airlines will board folks first with window seats, then middle seats, and finally aisle seats. Check out this report.

Why are they doing this? To cut down on time. United Airlines figured out that if they wanted their flights to land and board more efficiently so they could get back in the air, this boarding rule would be perfect.

Seems like a great idea, right? Maybe not.

Several folks who fly United regularly might not realize this new plan and could get the short end of the stick regarding carry-on luggage. If you have an aisle seat, the likelihood of you having space in your overhead bin will be limited.

United Airlines flies to several hubs out of the Bozeman Airport, like Los Angeles, Chicago, Newark, and more.
