The Gallatin History Museum wants to document this once-in-a-lifetime pandemic that we currently find ourselves facing. Calling it a Community Memoir, the History Museum is asking Gallatin County residents of all ages to write a letter reflecting on their personal experiences, observations, and opinions during this crisis.

Handwritten letters are preferred but emails will also be accepted. Photos and drawings are also encouraged. In keeping in line with the museum’s mission to preserve, promote and foster the history of Gallatin County and Southwest Montana, this memoir will be archived in the museum’s Research Center for generations to come, a history that reflects on the struggles and the strengths of the people of Gallatin County.

You can mail your letter to the address below or put them in a designated box that will be located at the entrance to the museum at 317 W. Main Street. Letters may be submitted anonymously. Please note: The Gallatin County History Museum is currently closed to the public.
