It's time to "Can the Griz." Please help us defeat the those dirty, rotten Griz this year by helping us raise donations for the Gallatin Valley Food Bank. The 18th annual Can the Griz food drive is an off-field competition between Montana State University and the University of Montana to see which school can collect the most donations for its local county food bank.

It begins officially on Saturday, November 4th and runs through the first quarter of the Cat-Griz football game on Saturday, November 18th. The XL Nation has helped raise nearly 45,000 pounds of food over the past three years and we need your help again this year!

Please Help Us Out During our 12-hour Can the Griz Food Drive

on Saturday November 11th at Town & Country Foods on 19th Ave in Bozeman. Dave & Ally will be broadcasting live and collecting your can food items and monetary donations from 6 a.m to 6 p.m. Our goal is to collect 30,000 pounds (Yes, we've raised our goal!) on Saturday, but we need your help to do it!

Also, for our XL Nation listeners who live in the Belgrade/Manhattan area, you can drop by Town & Country Foods in Belgrade that same Saturday. Jesse James will be there to collect your donations between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The Can the Griz proceeds go to the Gallatin Valley Food Bank and benefits Bounty of the Bridgers: A Food Resource Council at MSU.

Here are some other ways you can donate:

-Monetary donations may be made directly to the Gallatin Valley Food Bank. Each dollar donated counts as 1 pound of food!

-Bring your cans to the MSU football games on November 4th and 18th. Collection bins will be located at the stadium entrances and the XL Country tailgates.

-Bring your cans to the MSU basketballl games on November 15th. Collection bins will be located at game entrances.

-Bring your cans to the MSU volleyball games on November 9th and 11th. Collection bins will be located at game entrances.

-Bobcat supporters can designate their contribution to MSU by telling the Gallatin Valley Food Bank or collection location host that their donation is for the Can the Griz food drive.

Last year, MSU and the Bozeman community donated a record 234,486 pounds of food plus approximately $92,688 to the Gallatin Valley Food Bank. The University of Montana and Missoula community also raised a record amount for the Missoula community's local food bank. Donations from UM and the Missoula community totaled 177,876 pounds of food plus $139,606. We challenge the Bozeman community to help us win again!

If you would like to help us, we are looking for volunteers to assist us on Saturday, November 11th at Town & Country Foods. Please email Ally at Ally@XLcountry.com and let her know what time you would be available.
