What are the must-see spots in Glacier National Park?
- Going To The Sun Road. This very well may be the most famous road in the United States. Only open a few months out of the year, there are different options when it comes to traveling the road. You can drive yourself, or you can take a guided tour, which I highly recommend.
- Grinnell Glacier. A challenging hike (4 to 6 hours round-trip) with stunning views of the area, for those who are up for it, the Grinnell Glacier Trail is a must when visiting the park.
- Many Glacier. Located on the east side of the park, Many Glacier Lodge is one of the coolest hotels in the country. Reminiscent of something you would find in Europe, this popular lodging spot books quickly and in advance; however, if you're just looking to visit for a few hours, there's plenty of activity.
- Hidden Lake Overview. Another trail to hike is the Hidden Lake Overview Trail. Considered easy to moderate, it requires less time (90 minutes) than hiking the Grinnell Glacier Trail. A word of caution, this is one of the most popular hiking trails in the park, so you should expect a crowd.
- Lake McDonald. The most popular lake in Glacier National Park, this clear water lake is a favorite among those visiting. The lake is 500 feet deep and 10 miles long. Known for the rainbow colored rocks and spectacular views, Lake McDonald is a must-see.
