Former Montana State Graduate Shines in NFL Performance

Sunday was a great day for former Montana State Graduate, Alex Singleton.

Singleton played Will linebacker at Montana State University. In 2015, he was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Seattle Seahawks after the draft. In 2013, he was MSU's leading tackler with 110 on the season, and his 16.5 tackles-for-loss missed MSU’s top 10 list in that category by 0.5 TFL. It's safe to say that he was a stand-out for the Bobcat football team.

Singleton now plays linebacker for the Philadelphia Eagles, but also played for the New England Patriots, Minnesota Vikings, and Calgary Stampeders since leaving Montana State.

On Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles took on the San Francisco 49ers. With less than 6 minutes left in the 4th quarter, the Eagles were in the lead 18-14.

With starting QB Jimmy Garoppolo on the sidelines, back-up QB Nick Mullens dropped back for a pass, and was intercepted by Alex Singleton. It literally looked like he passed it right to him. After the interception, Singleton ran all the way back into the end zone for a pick six, essentially ending any hope of San Francisco making a comeback.

The interception on Sunday was Singleton's first career NFL interception. After returning it for 30 yards, he scored his first career NFL touchdown.
