I grew up in a blue collar, middle class family.

My Dad worked in a factory, my Mom worked in retail. My parents bought there house a year or two before I was born, and that was the place they called home until they passed away. I'm not sure how much money my parents made, but I know that we never needed anything. Oh sure, we might have wanted a few things, but as far as our needs went, they were always met.

How much do you need to make to live in Montana comfortably?

According to the data, to live a comfortable "upper middle class" life in Montana, you would need to make just over 117 thousand dollars a year.

Now, I'm sure there are parts of Montana that fit that bill, but certainly not towns like Bozeman or Missoula. In Bozeman, that income doesn't qualify you to buy a house unless you have a gigantic down payment, so I feel like the numbers are a little off.
