Colleen At The Ridge: First Workout
Today was my first real workout day at The Ridge. I went skiing yesterday, and we skied hard. Then, we had margaritas. I stayed up too late, woke up this morning and not only did my legs hurt, but so did my head. All I wanted to do was cancel my workout with Annie and go back to bed! I knew I couldn't cancel my first appointment, and now I am SO glad I didn't!
Annie and I are a perfect match. When I signed up, the membership desk got some information from me, so they knew which personal trainer would be best for me. Annie combines cardio and weights in one workout. I asked her to take it easy on me because of the skiing yesterday. Apparently, she decided to ignore me. We started the workout after a quick warm up on the treadmill. I love that she knows just how far I can go. Annie pushed me to do my best, but knew when to stop. Even though it was tough, I felt like a new woman! If I hadn't had my training appointment, I probably wouldn't have gone to the gym today. Thank goodness I did, because it completely changed my day. I felt so good about myself afterwards!
I am a self-starter, but when it comes to working out, I need accountability. Annie asked me about my workout plans for this weekend. I am going skiing again, but plan on hitting one or two of the many classes that are included in membership. If you're like me, and need a kick in the butt once in a while, you should get a personal trainer at The Ridge. You will be amazed at how knowledgeable (and fun) they are. The Ridge has great deals to get you started, and get you on a program. If I had walked in there on my own today, I probably would have wandered around, walked on the treadmill for a while, and done some ab work, probably incorrectly.
I feel great today! Plus, I love that I get extra calories for working so hard! Something funny about working out, it also makes you eat healthier. Even though that morning I was craving fast food, after my workout, I had a wonderfully filling, healthy lunch. It's not taking as long as I thought it would to get back to a healthy way of life, thanks to Annie and The Ridge!
