The Cody Police Department held a press conference this morning, with the latest on the abduction case.

They are not releasing the name of the suspect believed to be responsible for the abduction and assault of a young girl in Cody last week.

During a press conference this morning, authorities said surveillance pictures and videos were key in finding the suspect, who was arrested in Belgrade Saturday night.

The Cody Police Chief said video from Yellowstone National Park allowed them to get a license plate of the subject's car, and was integral to his arrest.

While the suspect's name is not officially public knowledge, Gallatin County Jail records show a man named Jesse Speer was booked over the weekend on a hold for Wyoming, with bond set at 2 million dollars.

Jailers say he faces charges of kidnapping, aggravated assault and felony use of a weapon.  Police say the subject lured the 11 year old girl into a white SUV last Monday, after claiming he needed help finding a lost puppy.   He then threatened her with a handgun, and at one point hit her with the gun.  For more details, click through here to the Cody Enterprise.

She was found walking on a mountain road by hunters a few hours later.  Authorities say this case is not related to the disappearance of a Colorado Girl.
