It’s Officially Time To Celebrate FFA Week In Montana
Were you part of FFA growing up? You know, the Future Farmers of America organization in school. For a lot of Montana students, it was more than just another club. It’s what they have built their lives on and it is still going strong today.
This week, Greg Gianforte met with state officers from the Montana FFA at the Capitol and officially recognized FFA Week, February 21-28, across the state. The goal is simple. Shine a light on agricultural education and the role it plays in shaping Montana’s next generation of leaders.
Agriculture remains Montana’s top industry, and programs like FFA help students prepare for real careers in farming, ranching, business, science, and skilled trades. State officers shared updates on growing membership, upcoming competitions, and how local chapters are helping students with hands-on experience.
FFA first began nationally in 1928 when a group of young farmers created an organization to prepare future generations to feed a growing country. Montana joined in 1930 with just a couple of dozen chapters and a few hundred members. Today, there are more than 100 chapters statewide and thousands of students involved.
