BZN Sets New Passenger Records In 2025 And Expands Flights For 2026
I think, as a local in the Bozeman area, you are more than aware of how absolutely unhinged our airport can get. For a place that is nowhere near the size of Atlanta or LAX, Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport somehow manages to feel just as busy. Especially once tourist season kicks into high gear.

The airport just released numbers for the 2025 travel year, and honestly, they are impressive. In 2025 alone, BZN served a record-breaking 2,809,419 passengers. That is a 6.3 % jump from 2024 and proof that you weren’t crazy for thinking it was busier.
Along with the new record, the airport announced it is expanding travel options to help make it easier getting in and out of town. Three new routes are being added to the lineup, including Austin, Texas, Long Beach, California, and Phoenix Sky Harbor.

Behind the scenes, BZN has been busy with far more than just flight schedules. The airport is well into its multi-phase expansion project. In case you didn’t know, there is a $190 million East Terminal Expansion Project happening. Construction is moving along on schedule and under budget, which feels like a minor miracle in itself.

Infrastructure upgrades were also a major focus and completed in 2025. The biggest upgrade they mentioned was the completion of the main runway by extending it 328 feet. In 2026, they said they will continue navigational improvements. More upgrades are planned for 2026, all aimed at improving efficiency and handling the increasing demand. Love it or tolerate it, Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport is only getting bigger.
