BOZEMAN – Montana State
University Extension and Gallatin County 4-H representatives will be at the
August 27 Gallatin Valley Farmers Market Extension booth to discuss
opportunities available for youth ages 6-19 in the 4-H program.

4-H is designed to engage youth in healthy learning
experiences to increase their self-esteem and problem solving skills. 4-H gives
kids a chance to learn, develop new skills, travel, make friends, and have fun.
Children as young as six can participate in the 4-H Cloverbud program. At age
nine, a youth may join 4-H as a regular member and choose projects of their
interest. Youth may continue in 4-H until age 19, but must be enrolled in high
school. In Gallatin County, families participating can receive a monthly
e-newsletter to stay up to date on events and projects. Popular projects in
Gallatin County are shooting sports, horse, and robotics. Gallatin County 4-H
representatives will be available on Aug. 27 to answer questions about the
program and how to become a member.

The Gallatin County Farmers Market runs from 9 a.m. through
noon on Saturdays through Sept. 10.
