When Lori and I first came to Bozeman in 2006, one of the first things we noticed were dogs.  Dogs all over the place and stores letting you bring your pooch into the business.  Most dogs are very well behaved, and I think that dogs are better at following directions than most small children!  But did you hear the story about a Home Depot customer's Shih Tzu dog that actually bit off part of a store greeter's nose when she tried to pet it.

Anne Riel told reporters that the dog was being pushed in a cart by its 74-year-old owner when Riel bent down to pet her. She explained, "No sooner had I slightly bent down . . . [when] the dog bit my nose with its entire mouth." Riel had to have emergency plastic surgery as the dog actually bit off part of her nose. The dog's owner tried to leave but was stopped by paramedics. The owner might be charged a fine up to $600, but the court could also order that the dog be euthanized. Riel says that its not just pit bulls and big dogs that are "nasty," adding, "The small dogs can be just as nasty and that's what's deceiving." (UPI)

Here's my question:  do you think it's okay for owners to bring their pets into stores?
