What a great weekend I was fortunate enough to have. The weather, for the most part, was outstanding and I was able to drop by two amazing local events where people in our community decided to help other people in our community. That's how the world is supposed to work, right?

Great Community Event #1

Our friend Erin Wells in Manhattan is a marathon runner. So she decided to put her passion to work for the residents of Manhattan by blocking off Broadway Street and running up and down the street for 26 miles to raise money for those who need it in Manhattan. Erin completed the course in just under 4-hours (3:57) and some of her friends and neighbors even ran with her. Way to go, Erin!

Great Community Event #2

Ally's neighbor Troy and wife, Lorena, got together with some friends and sponsors (Shepherds Heart, American Simmental Assoc, First Montana Bank, Journey Church, and individuals) and handed out 50,000 pounds of potatoes & 10,000 pounds of beef this weekend (see video below) at the Gallatin Valley Mall. When I was there about 9:30 a.m. on Saturday hundreds of cars were already lined up. Thank you Troy and Lorena, and all the other folks who were involved with this!

And if that wasn't enough, I got in a kayaking adventure with our friend Bernie from Kenyon Noble at Bozeman Beach and a BBQ with Ally and her hubby, John. Sorry, no cameras were allowed at that event, so you'll have to rely on the paparazzi. Hope you had a great weekend too, XL Nation!
