NorthWestern Energy will be upgrading the natural gas distribution system in parts of downtown Bozeman.

This work is part of an extensive $360 million program aimed at boosting the reliability and safety of NorthWestern Energy's electric and natural gas service across Montana.

Replacing and relocating equipment in the downtown areas of a number of Montana communities will be a significant focus of the work.

Work is scheduled to start in downtown Bozeman on Monday May 20th at 8:00 A.M., beginning with the 100 block of West Babcock between South Grand Ave and South Wilson Ave.

Crews will be installing a new zone valve located on the 100 block of West Babcock Street and replacing main and services in the adjacent parking area to the north between South Grand Avenue and South Wilson Avenue.

Existing pipe configuration requires West Babcock to be fully closed during a portion of this infrastructure upgrade.

Closure dates are pending, and officials say the public will be notified in advance of both full and partial street closures.
